About this site
Hi. This site exists because of one very specific, very annoying feeling: opening a sketchbook, staring at the page, and having absolutely no idea what to put on it. Then closing the sketchbook. Then feeling bad about it for the rest of the day.
I tried the usual fixes. Pinterest boards that I never opened again. Prompt lists that all had "draw a cat" at number one. A couple of random prompt websites that worked fine but gave me the same twelve ideas over and over, with no way to filter out the stuff I wasn't interested in.
So this got built instead: a random drawing generator that mixes prompts from separate parts instead of pulling from a fixed list, lets you filter by category and difficulty, lets you lock the bits you like, and has a timer built right in so you don't need a second tab open.
What the site believes, basically
- Deciding is the bottleneck, not skill. Most people who "can't draw today" could draw fine — they just couldn't pick a subject.
- Constraints beat freedom. A weird rule like "no eraser" or "only three colours" teaches you more in ten minutes than an open afternoon does.
- Free should mean free. No account, no email wall, no "sign up to see more prompts." Ads pay for the hosting and that's the whole business model.
- Your data is yours. Saved prompts live in your browser's local storage. They never touch a server.
Who it's for
Beginners who need low-pressure practice. Intermediate artists stuck redrawing the same three things. Character designers who want random subject constraints. Art teachers who need a five-second class activity. People doing Inktober who ran out of steam on day nine. And honestly, anyone who's bored and has a pen nearby.
What's coming next
The plan is more categories (mythology, fashion, vehicles, architecture), an optional daily prompt you can bookmark, and a shareable challenge link so groups can all get the same prompt. If there's something you want, the contact page is right there — suggestions genuinely do get built.
